Hanging On and Holding Out
Hanging On and Holding Out was born when I was forced to grapple with an event that redefined my life. The emotional rollercoaster I was on throughout my father’s illness and death forever changed me. I began by making small drawings to encapsulate my feelings at the moment and eventually the project grew to an installation comprised of striped walls with peeling paint, drawings, sculptures, single channel video, photographs and custom playing cards. Each time the project travels to a different venue, new elements are created in direct response to the space and my recent experiences through this journey.
